Thomas Ulmer & Lucy Alfronso Pope

Thomas Ulmer, Born, 28 Sept. 1865 at Hopkins, Mo., Died, 19 Feb. 1952. Married Lucy Alfronso Pope, 6 Oct. 1886. He was the grandfather of my father, (My Great Grandpa), and one of the sons of George McCullough Ulmer and Judith A. Murphy Ulmer.

Lucy Alfronso Pope, Born, 31 Dec. 1869, Died, 30 July, 1937. She is buried at Maryville, Mo. (The middle name was spelled different by all relatives)

The Ancestry of Lucy Alfronso Pope

Elijah Pope & Jane D. Wallis

Elijah Pope was the Great, Great Grandfather of Lucy Pope Ulmer. He was born Nov. 1798 in North Carolina. He married Jane D. Wallis, 12 June, 1819. He died the 14th of Dec., 1874, in Crawford County, Ind.

Jane D. Wallis, little is known about her, except she was born in Tennessee and died on 9 Jan.?

The couple had a son named Pilgrim Pope and he is the next direct family link to us.

Pilgrim Pope & Martha J. Cambron

Pilgrim Pope was born in 1822, in Indiana. He died the 23rd of Nov., 1858. He was only 36 years old at his death. He married Martha Jane Cambron on 12 Jan., 1843.

Martha J. Cambron was born in 1822 in Kentucky. She died 10th of May, 1901 in Chicago, Ill. Her second husband was Michael Cosgrove, who also died before her, (1883). She was buried 11th of May, 1901, in Mt. Carmel Cem. She was the daughter of Thomas Cambron (or Cameron) and Jane Queen, who lived in Kentucky.

Martha's grandfather, John Baptist Cambron, known as Baptist, was a veteran of the Revolutionary War, and he spent the historic winter in the army of George Washington at Valley Forge.

Martha and Pilgrim had a son named Thomas Cambron (or Cameron) Pope and lived in Illinois at that time, (Jan., 1844). Thomas Cambron was the father of Lucy Alfronso Pope. For more about Thomas, see the next page.
