James True Ulmer & Mary Ellen Butcher |

James True Ulmer - aka."True", the son of Thomas Ulmer and Lucy Alfronso Pope, was born Mar. 23, 1899 at Hopkins, Mo.. He married Mary Ellen Butcher Nov. 3, 1919. He was known as "True Ulmer". He died in Green Ridge, Mo. June 17, 1959. He is buried in Green Ridge Mo.. It is believed by some of the older family members that James's full name was James Trueblood Ulmer. Maybe because there was a family named Trueblood, that were friends of his parents, that lived near them when he was born. Most of us never heard about the Trueblood name and have or had doubts about it. I never heard it before, and I am one of his grandsons. While on my trip to Maryville, Mo., and the other towns, I visited many of the cemeteries. I found there were many Trueblood family members buried in some of those cemeteries. It is very likely that James was named James Trueblood Ulmer, although he did not use the full name.
