Edward Butcher and John Bruns

Edward is on the left and John on the right of the photo.

Edward Butcher, a brother of Mary Ellen Butcher Ulmer, was born in 1916.  -  "Ed, a good kid, was the favorite of the family. He died at age 17, ten months exactly after Emma, his sister died. He worked in the shoe factory at Windsor, Missouri. He took typhoid fever, then scarlet fever. A friend and he were laying on the floor at Oscar's home when they heard a train whistle. They decided to race to the cafe and beat the train before it got to town. They made it to the cafe and sat down on the stool. Ed, had a heart attack, and died in the cafe."

John Bruns, son of Edward's older sister Kate (Butcher) Bruns.
