Henry Jacob Blacketer

  Henry Jacob Blacketer was born in Maryville, Nodaway Co., MO., Sep. 4, 1885. For most of his life he was a digger of water wells in the northwest part of Missouri. When he was 30 years old he purchased his first wife (Yes, I said "Purchased". She was full-blooded Indian. He bought her for six head of horses. He lost her, and a child, during the child's birth.

  On Sep. 6, 1916 he married Ethel Mable Ulmer (she was born Sep. 18, 1898 in Pickering, MO.) She was the daughter of John Wesley Ulmer and Rachel L. Majers.
