The children of David Sutton

1. Jacob Sutton was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania in the late 1790s. On December 3, 1818, he married Sarah McDowell in Butler County, Ohio. He appears to have relocated to Fayette County Indiana in the 1820s. By 1830, Sarah was listed as the head of household which indicates that he died in the 1820s.
2. Rachel was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania on February 5, 1799, or 1800. On February 25,1819, she married Samuel McVicker in Butler County, Ohio. They were early settlers of Indiana's Wabash County. She died on August 25, 1863 and was buried at the Old Cemetery in Lagro, Indiana.

3. Samuel was born on May 5, 1803 in Butler County, Ohio. On April 10, 1828, he married Matilda Morrison in Rush County, Indiana. They subsequently re-located to Clark County, Illinois. Per the 1850 federal census, he was a farmer with real estate worth $500. On November 8. 1857, he died and was later buried at the Marshall Illinois Cemetery.
4. Hannah was born in 1805 in Butler County, Ohio. She married Thomas G. Stephens and resided in Fayette County, Indiana on a farm valued at $6,600 in 1850. She died in 1856.
5. Rebecca was born on November 19, 1807 in Butler County, Ohio. She married Joseph McDowell and subsequently relocated to Clark County, Illinois. Per the 1850 federal census, their farm was worth $2,400. She died on February 17, 1866 and was later buried at the Marshall Illinois Cemetery.
6. Jane was born on January 22, 1807 in Butler County, Ohio. On May 25, 1826, she married Adam Spivey in Butler County, Ohio. They resided in Fayette County, Indiana on a farm valued at $6,500 in 1850.
7. Polly was born in 1812 in Butler County, Ohio. On October 23,1828, she married Levi Williams in Rush County, IN. They subsequently relocated to Clark County, Illinois. Per the 1850 federal census, their farm was worth $400. She died in 1892.
8. Sarah was born on Aug. 18, 1814 in Butler County, Ohio. On December 19, 1832, she married Thomas Murphey in Rush County, IN. They subsequently relocated to Clark County, Illinois. Per the 1860 federal census, their farm was worth $2,400. She died on June 19, 1864 and was later buried at the Marshall, Illinois Cemetery.
9. Benjamin was born in 1817 in Butler County, Ohio. On October 21, 1838, he married Eleanor Cook in Fayette County, IN. They resided on the Sutton family farm in Rush County and were listed as the owners in the 1880 census. The farm was estimated to be worth $6,400 in 1860.
10. Phebe was born in 1817 in Butler County, Ohio. On December 17, 1835, she married William Cooper in Rush County, IN. They subsequently relocated to Clark County, Illinois. Per the 1850 federal census, their farm was estimated to be worth $1,000. She died in 1865.
11. John was born in about Dec., 1919 in Butler County, Ohio. On August 22, 1844, he married Rebecca Hornaday in Fayette County, IN. They resided in Fayette's village of Orange until his death on May 6, 1852. He was buried next to his mother at the Heaton Graveyard on Street's Farm in Noble Township in Rush County.
12. Lutitia Sutton was born on Sep., 21, 1821 in Butler County, Ohio. She married John Carothers (Crothers) on Nov. 6, 1843 in Fayette County, Indiana. Sadly, Lutitia died only 10 months later, on Sep. 6, 1844. She is buried next to her brother, John (#11 above), at the Heaton Graveyard on Street's Farm in Noble Township in Rush County. (Whether, or not, Lutitia's early death was due to a child's birth, or not, I'm not aware of this at this time.)
