Lexington Township Log House

(Most likely build around 1836-38)

This cabin, on the homestead land of William Bowles, is located in Lexington Township, Scott Co., Indiana. William and his wife, Ann, entered the land on Jan. 3, 1836. This is just another house that would have been possibly seen by those Ulmers that lived in the early 1800s in Indiana. Lexington was the county seat at that time. Scottsburg later, in December of 1870, became the county seat.
